Tilian Pearson Dance Gavin Dance announced on Friday (June 3) that vocalist Tilian Pearson would be leaving the rock band to “seek professional assistance” following recent sexual misconduct allegations.
The statement added that the rest of the band members will continue to perform at their scheduled tour dates this summer, and will also release their album Jackpot Juicer on July 29 as planned. “We all worked incredibly hard on this album, and it is also the last recorded body of work from Tim – we want to be sure we give it the full release attention that it deserves to honor his legacy.”

On June 1, a Reddit user posted a 6,000-word-plus recollection of her recent interactions with Pearson around the time Pearson Dance Gavin Dance played at their own SwanFest event on April 23 in Sacramento, California.
She alleges she struggled to resist Pearson’s sexual advances after being mocked for her rule of not having sexual intercourse on a first date and rather than continue to fight it and “have a high likelihood of getting raped” she elected to “act like it’s my own decision to gain autonomy over the situation.”

“We know that this is a very upsetting and trying situation for all those affected, and we ask people to please be as understanding as possible while everyone works through this,” Dance Gavin Dance’s statement concluded.
