All is not enough for Focus to boast of one of the outstanding guitarists in Jan Akkerman. They had a unique take on a tune and had success with an instrumental rock genre. Focus is the leading Dutch 70s rock band. Formed in 1969, they gained attention through their first single “House Of The King“. Their second album, 1971’s II, was Focus’s breakthrough, delivering an international hit on the fierce “Hocus Pocus”. Their third album, featuring the quiet elegant tunes of “Sylvia”, gained more fans worldwide, with Akkerman’s admiration.

The harmonic progressive band Ambrosia quartet from California illuminated the second half of the ’70s. Their imaginative debut of the same name in 1975. Based on a poem by Kurt Vonnegut for the single “” Nice, Nice, Very Nice”, where “Holdin ‘On To Yesterday” carries a staged beauty with the kind of beat now considered a melodious groove, a major American hit. The following year, Somewhere I’ve Never Traveled delivered to FM DJs in a wild quiet manner. The band became more famous for cutting “The Magical Mystery Tour” for The Beatles’ quirky war documentary All This And World War II. In the 80s the band was still touring.

Wet Willie was one of the 70s rock bands. The band’s name was named after a schoolyard joke but it was no joke. They have five or six core members, plus backing vocalist The Williettes. They toured continuously, were supported by everyone, but disbanded in 1975, leaving us with 6 albums like Nervous On The Road with a country vibe. Most of the members have achieved success, especially musician Nick Lowe. Another failed hero, Scottish guitarist Miller Anderson, ignited the blues flame on records by Keef Hartley Band, Savoy Brown, Ian Hunter, Jon Lord, and many others.

They are known for their light leather trousers and are considered early glam stones. Their song ‘Blockbuster’ topped the charts in 1973. Sweet has sold over 35 million albums worldwide. They deserve to be one of the best 70s rock bands.
