Davis Whole Earth Festival 2022 will be filled with music, food and fun, all for free.
The Whole Earth Festival began in 1969 as a small art class project on the UC Davis Quad. Students have used art to teach visitors about the areas of active health, and environmental sustainability in a creative and interactive way.
After Earth Day was recognized by the United Nations in 1970, the event was renamed the Whole Earth Festival, lovingly nicknamed “WEF” and since then it has grown into a free event. Organized by students, attracts more than 30,000 visitors annually over Mother’s Day weekend.

Many environmental and nature lovers have joined Davis for the WEF and UC Davis Quad this area features arts & crafts tents, massage tables, food, musical performances, booths Educational goods and children’s discovery area. Various workshops take place throughout the weekend as well as a wide variety of music and dance songs.

Consider carefully if you want a band you want to play or booth or your own, register on their website around December or January which is a time when applications go up a lot.
Although it is expensive to host the Festival, the fees charged to the vendors (Food, Service and Crafts booth) bring in enough money to pay the bills. So buying things at the Festival (or donating to WEF) will help keep it afloat.
The festival is a drug-free zone so keep this in mind when attending.
